Alan J. Marcus, Esq

Managing Attorney

From the moment I first started to practice my goal was to provide the highest quality of professional legal services for the benefit of our clients. I am proud to say that we achieve that goal on a daily basis.  Many of our clients have been with the firm more than 20 years, a clear confirmation that we accomplish our mission statement on a daily basis. I received my Juris Doctor degree from the University Miami in 1983 as well as a Masters in Taxation (L.L.M.) in 1984. The firm relocated to its current office from Bay Harbor Islands on January 1, 1994.

Our firm has represented first time and repeat home buyers  as well as developers and institutional investors that purchase multi family, office and shopping center properties. On a personal and professional basis, I have focused on commercial transactions, particularly the purchase, sale and financing of commercial strip shopping centers and multifamily projects in Florida, Georgia, New York and Texas. I am proud to say that I served as corporate secretary for Equity One, Inc, from 1994 through 2000 and assisted in the initial public offering of the company on the New York Stock Exchange in 1998. The Company grew from a single shopping center to over 200 over a 15 year period. On its behalf, I was lead real estate counsel for the acquisition of three public companies, UIRT, Centrefund, and IRT Property Company.

Alise Weinstein has been with the firm since 2004 and is our senior residential closing attorney.

She has been practicing real estate transactional law in South Florida for approximately 30 years, and has been instrumental in thousands of closings over that time.  A North Carolina native, she received a B.A. in English from The George Washington University in 1988 and her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1992.

The focus of her practice at the firm is residential real estate transactions, representing buyers, sellers, lenders and developers in all aspects of the closing process. This includes title examination and review, contract negotiations, and documentation preparation, but also insuring that in each transaction, our clients are informed, guided and have a pleasant closing experience.

Although her job requires me to handle the technicalities of each closing, “I really enjoy getting to know the people involved, making myself available to answer any questions, and to make sure all phone calls and emails are promptly returned at the end of each day.”
